THE HEBRIDEAN CAST
THE HEBRIDEAN CAST
This is a two fly cast that is useful on loch or river. For example on a windswept sea trout loch where you have no idea where the fish are lying put a Spiny Norman (or similar bushy Bobfly) on the top dropper (bob) and a Black Spider (or similiar) on the point. Cast and work the team ( use a figure of eight hand retrieve and rod tip) so the bobfly creates a 'V' on the water, this will attract the fish that take it or the point fly. At the very least the fish give their location, if the mini lures fail (most wetflies are small lures) try something like a Daddy Straggler fished dead drift to tempt them. These flies are tied on wide gape caddis hooks which are really good at hooking fish and keeping them hooked, especially useful for soft mouthed sea trout. The size 10 is not a big fly, it is best in a wave while the #12 is useful in a ripple.
The Prices are not per fly, ie: for £1.40 you get three flies
